The Trangie Co-working space is ready for business following a considerable refurbishment of the Trangie CWA hall.
The Trangie facility is the fourth In the series of ‘Co-working spaces’ across NSW and was opened on December 11 this year.
The ‘space’ was officially opened by The Hon. Jodie Harrison, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
She was joined by well-known and respected Jessie Quigley OAM and local State member Dugald Saunders. Approximately 80 guests and the Narromine Shire Council Mayor, Cr Craig Davies, were in attendance.
The transformation to the CWA hall was made possible through a NSW Government grant of $400,000 from the ‘Investing in Women’ programme.
It is envisaged that the workspace will be used by locals who want to spend some of their time away from the house, business people and travellers looking for a space to work and people wanting to use the space for a workshop.
“It is a great space for professional people or anyone for that matter to use,” said Cr Davies, “It speaks volumes for the vision CWA has here in Trangie.”

He addressed Jodie Harrison, saying it was an honour for Trangie to have her present. “It is important that ministers make an effort to come out to country towns, and we appreciate that.”
Ms Harrison, in her speech, acknowledged the work the preceding government had made towards this facility. She mentioned the other three facilities at Dorrigo, Walgett and Canowindra, where she also attended the openings.
“Each of them has their own personalities. Each co-working space reflects the community and local personality of the CWA. And I must say it is women who have done this,” she said.
The celebratory cake, in typical CWA style, was cut by Jessie Quigley and Dugald Saunders and enjoyed by the dignitaries and guests, along with a plethora of delicious culinary delights.
